Migrating strata roll with 1000 SP from PDF format to excel format
Most of the time the out-going MA will hand over the accounts to the in-coming MA, one of the types of information is the strata roll.
Strata roll is very important to get it up into the database as we may need to issue invoices for the coming quarter and if it falls on the next month, the pressure is even higher to get the opening balances of each SP owing to come in.
We prioritize the accounts receivables first as timely collections will make sure all vendors are paid on time.
One painful experience was the out-going MA provided only the summarized balances of each SP account in pdf format, that could make up of a mix of MF and SF and late payment interest, and only reference is the statement of accounts of each SP.
We need the breakdown so that we need to calculate the current month late payment interest and a summarized total outstanding does not help.
We had to painstakingly refer to each statement of accounts to separate the late payment interest from the MF_SF, and fortunately most SP have a clean record. We have excel template for the strata roll and AR opening balances that once updated, can quickly import into Realtimme Cloud MCST system.
As we are very experienced in this area of work, we were able to deliver the accounts receivables information into the system and let the users prepare the coming quarterly billing and statement of accounts to their SP.

If you are lucky, they will give you their copy of strata roll in excel format. Regardless, we are able to convert the pdf to excel format, even though it may not be columns and rows, we will be able to massage the data into columns and rows and import it into our system.
